General

  • Can I send mezcal internationally?

    No. If you’re thinking you’d like to send a bottle to a friend abroad, it’s probably best not to as even if the courier accepts the package, it’ll most likely get stopped at customs.  You need a permission to export alcoholic beverages.

  • Can I travel with mezcal?

    Each airline and country has its own rules regarding travelling with alcohol. We recommend you check with your baggage allowance with your airline (some permit up to 4 bottles in hold luggage), and also with your destination country’s regulations (this can vary from one to three litres of alcohol over 25% vol.)

  • Can I meet the Mezcal Maestros?

    We regularly organise trips to our mezcal producing communities.  If you’d be interested in one of these then the best thing to do is to sign up to our newsletter and/or keep an eye on our Events so you can be amongst the first to know.  Of course you can also keep track of what we’re up to on social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

     

  • What are your opening hours?

    You can make an online purchase at any time day or night and your order will be processed the following working day.  Our in-person sales services at El Salón are by appointment only and within the hours of 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Purchasing

  • Can I pay in cash when I receive my order?

    Yes, but only within Mexico City.  Our online shop is secure but if you prefer to pay with a card on delivery, we can bring our terminal to you.

  • Where else can I buy mezcal from Gente de Mezcal?

    Aside from via our online shop, you can make a date with us for a personal, guided purchasing experience at El Salón which is at Versalles 94, in the Colonia Juárez in Mexico City.  Get in touch with us to set up a time that suits you.  If you’re in San José del Cabo in Baja California Sur, you ca find our mezcals at the Drift hotel.

  • Is there a minimum amount I need to buy?

    There is no minimum order.  For deliveries throughout Mexico you can buy through our online shop or for a unique personalised sales experience, make an appointment at El Salon where you can try before you buy… we promise you’ll find it hard to leave with only one bottle…

     

     

  • Can I buy in bulk?

    Yes.  We have special deals for businesses, bars, restaurants, shops etc.  Additionally, we also have special discounts for the purchase of boxes (12 bottles) and bulk quantities (5 litres).  Email us at somos@gentedemezcal.com or give us a call on (+521) 2825 2002 and we’ll happy to talk through your business requirements.

Shipping

  • Can you do immediate deliveries?

    Yes, but for the moment, only within Mexico City. Give us a call on (+521) 55 2825 2002 and we’ll do our absolute best to fulfil your order.

  • What should I do if my order doesn’t arrive?

    Give us a call on (+521) 55 2825 2002. We use reliable courier services and always follow up our shipments by telephone so someone from Gente de Mezcal will always be available to resolve any delay.

  • When can I expect to receive my online purchase?

    If you’re within Mexico City, your mezcal will be delivered the day after your purchase has been successfully processed.  For immediate deliveries, we recommend you give us a call on (+521) 2825 2002 where you’ll get personalised attention.  Elsewhere within Mexico you can expect your delivery by courier within 5 to 7 working days.  We don’t currently offer international shipping.

     

  • Where do you deliver to?

    We’re able to deliver to any part of Mexico.  Within Mexico City we use messenger services and outside of the city we can deliver our mezcal anywhere FedEx can go.
